OUR STORY
June 2012 - A group of 15 neglected horses. Starving. Exhausted. A mare lies emaciated on the ground, surrounded by hungry foals. Her lifeless eyes. The buzzing of flies. With the mare's head in her lap, Laura watches, powerless and full of sorrow, as the animal closes its eyes and dies. Standing idly by and watching this could happen, and is still happening is not an option for Laura. She promises the mare that she will help all horses that live in appalling conditions.
June 15, 2012: Paard in Nood Spanje - Horses in Distress Spain - was born.
Horses in Distress Spain offers shelter to horses in Spain that are in need. This includes horses that have been abused, abandoned or starved and left for dead.
